Why Bequia?

Sailing & Whaling in Bequia

Every Easter, sailors from around the Caribbean gather in Bequia for the Easter Regatta.

This is a 4 day celebration of sailing with intense competition among the local fishing and whaling fleets as well as modern race boats.

In March 2008, our sailing club will race on one of the historic 28-foot "double-enders" called Brave Heart.

This is the premier class of the regatta, steeped in heritage and descended from the Bequia whaleboats.

Racing on this boat will be a great privilege for our members.

In addition to the opportunity to race on a double-ender, all members are invited to fly down to Bequia to experience this regatta.  Members will be invited to assist with Race Committee and regatta organization in addition to sail on other boats including possibly a J/24.

If you are considering joining our club expedition and being on our first trip to the Easter Regatta, please register your interest now.
