Pictures from Commodore's Visit Page 1 - Commodore
Olliverre & "Bluff"
Commodore Orbin Olliverre is head of the Bequia Sailing Club and a ship builder. Commodore Fortenbaugh was privileged to meet Commodore Ollivierre at his house overlooking Friendship Bay. This meeting was arranged by Bequia Sailing Club Secretary Nicola Redway. Commodore Olliverre showed Commodore Fortenbaugh his current building project. They also discussed the traditions of Bequia and the possibility of building a new 28-footer for the Manhattan Sailing Club to race in the future.
Commodore Olliverre then arranged for the taxi driver to take Commodore Fortenbaugh down to Paget Farm where he was able to see and photograph two 28-footers which are currently considered the championship. These were "Bluff" which is owned by Commodore Ollivverre and "Perservence."
Following are some close up pictures of Bluff so you can study the details, the rig and generally get an idea about how these boats will sail.
