Cool, and oh so chic, this boat is going to be the international sailing powerhouse of the fleet! Our goal is to have crew from as many countries as possible and define the art of luxury cruising for Caribbean Regattas to come.  We're going catamaran so we'll be traveling in maximum style and comfort.  On board we're going for a sophisticated mature ambiance with high standards of gourmet cooking, and nothing but the finest wines, and champagnes.  Quality over quantity will be our motto.  Hey, would you have it any other way?  Your captain has a hard earned reputation for having safe fun on the water through hundreds of fleet captain sails with the club.  He also has a reputation as the MSC's most avid fisherman and he's betting that there will be sushi on this boat!  He is an instructor, holds a USCG license, has significant blue water experience, and is certified by ASA for those who might want to take another coarse.  Everyone is free to learn as much as they want or just work on a tan and wait for the sushi!    Need more convincing?  Email me at richard_turrin@yahoo.com

Great Republic (after the Manhattan Sailing School boat I teach on) is calling "attention on deck" to all hands willing to enjoy some serious sailing and some seriously fun adventure this winter in the sunny British Virgin Islands. Our cruise will be especially tailored to those of you who wish to take their sailing to the next level, and achieve Coastal Cruising or Bareboat Certification with the American Sailing Association, in a more relaxed, but goal oriented week of sailing. The goal: to have fun while absorbing as much (or as little) of the sun's rays and seamanship as you like. Casual sailors, guests, friends, and spouses are encouraged to join the crew as well - they'll simply have a bit more time for sampling the local rums than some of you...! See my web site: www.efreeburg.com or email me at wesfree@aol.com.

Boat: 51.5 Monohull - $1,780 per person

Come join the best boat in the Regatta. We folks of a "certain age" really appreciate a relaxing sail enjoyed with good company, well prepared food emanating from our ship's galley served with a fine wine at Caribbean prices and our own good cheer. That's not to mention the interesting conversation that we can each bring aboard.  You must be over 45 to join this crew (but we won't "card" you). Captain Joan owns her own 36' Pearson sloop and has a Coast Guard Captain's license as well so you will be in experienced hands. Good crew needed!  Contact Capt. Joan at LappinJE@aol.com to join this very cosmopolitan crew, the Premiere Crew, for a relaxing week of fun. No pressure to race the fastest, only to relax the most. I'll gladly share my years of cruising experience with you as our crew rotates among the jobs on deck so you can master different skills (reading a chart, using the radio, plotting our course, hoisting the sails, getting underway and anchoring). About $1800 per person depending on final boat selection.

Hilary Burt, an ASA instructor with the club for several years, will be skippering her own boat "Killer Rabbit" this year in the BVI after two previous trips with the Manhattan Sailing Club. Last year she was part of Mark Melvin's crew in the Grenadines. "Killer Rabbit" will split the returning crew from the Grenadines trip and the previous BVI 2005 trip with "Castle Anthrax", Mark's boat. With two boats there are now additional open spots. Come join us for a wonderful week of sunny sailing fun! If you are interested in joining the crew, please contact Hilary at hilary.l.burt@gmail.com.

Boat 8 - "Castle Anthrax" - BOAT SOLD OUT

Boat: 51.5 - $1,780 per person

Mark Melvin's boat is historically a magnet for people who try to get the most out of every moment of the trip. The crews sails a lot, swims a lot, eats amazing foods, has won the appetizer competition, holds records for the Wille T, hosts some really fun parties aboard (see the Day 3 pictures from 2006), dances into the latest hours, has become 100% members of the "Royal Order of De Caribbean Regatta" three years in a row, never misses any interesting event or shore point of interest, and yet somehow finishes the trip feeling relaxed, fulfilled, and with smiles and memories that last for months afterwards. The crew becomes a group of really close friends who remain close and socialize together year round. This year the crew faced a dilemma - 100% of last year's crew wanted to go again, yet they also wanted to make space for some new friends. As a result, Hilary Burt is skippering a boat, and Mark's 2006 Grenadines crew will be split across the two boats. Whether you're on "Killer Rabbit" or "Castle Anthrax", if you're lucky enough to get one of our (4) newly open spots you'll have the trip of a lifetime even if you don't know the origin of the names. Mark is an experienced owner of a 46' Beneteau sailboat, a USCG licensed captain, an ASA certified instructor, and will gladly offer Basic Coastal Cruising, Bareboat Chartering, or a refresher course. If you're interested in joining the crew, contact Mark via  mark.melvin@americas.bnpparibas.com.
