Warm waters, hot racing... cool bars, and icy cold adult beverages!
Sunshine in winter is intoxicating... So are rustic rum huts on
sugary-sand beaches after a long sail - especially if you have a cool
adult beverage in your suntanned hands and are standing in awe of the
"green flash". Combine all this together and they form a dangerous
compound known to scientists as FUN! Our destination this year: the
Fabulous British Virgin Islands - everyone's favorite! This year's
training menu will include Bareboat Chartering and Coastal Cruising. The
cruise on "Laissez-Faire" is carefully designed as a leisurely sail
cruising adventure with equal amounts of sun, fun, extended sailing and
a wee-bit of study too! Team Laissez-Faire will afford you the chance to
form lifetime bonds and memories. The name I chose for DCR2012 is meant
to embody the qualities of easy sailing: "Leave
to do (as one pleases)" especially if it's new adventures and fun
events! On this large monohull yacht, our theme centers mostly around
the sailing, but we'll definitely not miss a beat in thefestivities,
too. This "First 100" Skipper-mentor/member of the Club, Blue Water
Society inductee, veteran of many Caribbean charters, and Instructor at
the School looks forward to sailing and learning with you.
Welcome aboard! |

See paradise from the sea’s perspective with pure adventure every step
of the way. It’s hard to pick a favorite BVI island when each one of
them gives you something to behold. From navigating rugged coast lines,
visiting exciting marinas, taking in the Baths, snorkeling the Indians,
beaching your body on sand and tearing up the night life! It’s a
religious experience. Once you’ve bitten the apple of BVI, sailor’s
blood stays with you forever! About Me: I’ve sailed a salty bit,
traveled a bit, taught a bit, went to school and worked in the corporate
world forever. From a practical perspective I can swim, cook, read,
write and do arithmetic except when under the influence. About You:
Good social skills, willingness to take part in all sailing crew
activities (yes, we share turns at the helm, checking the engine,
cooking, cleaning, trimming, etc.), open to learning new stuff, and
desire to share friendship and fun. When you’re ready to decompress from
the depths of city life, come join “ALABANZA” to Praise the Sea!
Also, if anyone wants to achieve their second or third level
certifications in the amazing BVI waters, I will be teaching Coastal
Cruising and Bareboat Chartering |

A famous ad line put it this way: “Come see how the other two thirds
live.” We are indeed travelers on a blue planet and no where are the
blue waters waters more friendly or the winds more inviting than The
BVIs. The crew of courageous and swift “Dobedobedo” will be involved in
setting her course for trips to come on her maiden voyage. You’re
invited to take the helm, trim the sheets and head to wind, or if you'd
rather,,, hit the trampoline with your 45 on. Learn navigation and
costal cruising or chill with your Kindle. Do. Or Be. As a USCG Master
and Bare Boat Chartering ASA Instructor, Tracy brings you the option of
getting your skills on with Basic Costal or Bareboat Charter
certification. Galley skills will also be explored as the crew of

The sea
otter is a playful creature that focuses on fun and pleasure pursued in
a happy and relaxed manner. That is the flavor of life aboard “Otter”.
We’ve been doing the regatta every year since 2003, and it is always
heavenly. “Otter” will be departing from
St. Martin and joining the rest of the regatta on Day 2 (fly into St.
Martin, fly out from BVI or USVI). This will allow some of the sailors
on board to complete their Advanced Coastal Cruising certifications. If
you have any questions please email me at

The BVI’s offer great
adventure - the trip will change your life! Breathtaking scenery,
crystal clear waters, white sand beaches, constant trade winds and
sunshine. Arguably one the finest sailing grounds in the world - a true
sailor’s paradise. If you like cruising, racing, snorkeling, cooking,
great food, good music, dancing, and generally having a fantastic time,
“Latitude” is the vessel for you. You’ll enjoy new friendships and
become part of a closely knit team. If you’re a bit serious about
increasing your sailing skills, you can fulfill the ASA certification

things fun, a USCG Licensed Master w/Sailing Endorsement, ASA sailing
instructor through Advanced Coastal Cruising, MSC Skipper and Mentor,
and a Blue Water Society member. He has logged over almost 600 days
sailing and racing in US coastal waters, offshore, and in the Caribbean

Over the past two years
in the MSC, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed helping people learn the basics.
Some reviews: “Great instructor! …Amazingly patient…very thorough… a
pleasure to be around; a gentleman...straight forward and clear…ultra
professional, no-nonsense, incredibly informed…a great teacher…very
patient…can communicate essential aspects of sailing very
efficiently…very thorough—very patient as well…everybody learned
everything…great spirit from the whole team!...would highly recommend
the experience…”
In the coming weeks, the crew of One Luff
will be meeting up to practice cooking and dining together in small
space, and to decide our per-capita lime tonnage. When we set sail in
the BVI, having a small crew will assure everybody gets lots of practice
safely driving the boat, trimming the sails and saluting each other.
There will be snorkeling. I’ll arrange sunsets. One Luff! Avast me at

One week of sailing, sunshine and warmth in the Caribbean.
This is about as good as life gets. De Caribbean Regatta is always
one of the highlights of the entire year. Our vessel is in charge
of the entire flotilla, hence the name "Flagship." We host the
skippers' meetings and make sure all the other skippers and crew are
doing well and having a great time. Life aboard the Flagship
focuses on doing something interesting or exciting. We like good
sailing and good cooking. We always have a cooler filled with beer
and ice ready for the Mt Gay Rum and tonics. We know all the ins
and outs of most stops in the BVIs. Our boat highlights of this
year should be: relaxing at Cow Wreck Bay on Anegada, sitting on a chair
and putting our feet in the water near the Soggy Dollar on White Bay and
dancing all night at Willie Ts. |

beaches and plenty of sunshine. We do too! While
Generosity is in the Caribbean cruising for winter, we will be joining
the Manhattan Sailing Club's Silver Jubilee regatta! Generosity will be
the most unique boat in the fleet as the only Ketch, the only classic
boat AND the only boat with a Spinnaker! Plus, the skippers, Mike and
Emily, are De Caribbean Regatta Veterans & past recipients of the Order
of the De Caribbean Regatta Medal, and have been working for Manhattan
Sailing Club for 3 years. We'd love to have you sail with us and promise
you the best Caribbean vacation ever. Contact us with any questions:
