Sailing Club Maintenance

Sept 7, 2009 - Manhattan Sailing Club is interviewing for this position on weekday mornings between 8:30 and 9: 30 a.m.  If you wish to be invited for an interview, please indicate below which day you are available.

Manhattan Sailing Club owns a fleet of sailboats and powerboats.  Boats need on-going maintenance and cleaning.  Manhattan Sailing Club keeps its fleet maintained to very high standards.  The club is proud of the quality is has achieved.  Maintenance Technicians are needed to clean and repair the boats throughout the season. 

You must have prior boat maintenance experience to be considered for this job.

The starting salary for this position is $15 per hour or $31,200 per year.  Candidates work 40 hours per week and the schedule is normally Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Occasional weekend days are also required to support club regattas and other events.

To succeed in this position, candidates should be proficient with hand tools, be organized, be able to clean thoroughly and understand the importance of keeping a work area and tool box clean.  Personal appearance is also important because you are working at a sailing club.  Employees must be well groomed and well presented.

This is an outdoor position.  You will work from floating docks and on boats.  There is a lot to accomplish each day and a successful Maintenance Technician is someone who can stay focused and complete jobs.
