Spring Launching Photos 2007

2007 is our 20th Anniversary Season.  Because of this special occasion, the Commodore brought the 1966 Lincoln Continental Convertible out for members to see at the Spring Launching.  This was the car which towed all of the original J/24 sailboats from Newport to New York City during the first year of the club.  It must have been quite a sight on the road!

Also this year will be a new program to introduce the sailing of classic boats to the club.  The club is acquiring 2 G-Sloops, old fashioned race boats which used to sail on Barnegat Bay in the 1930s to the 1950s or 60s.  These 2 boats will be stationed on moorings down at Barnegat Bay.  Not only will this give members an opportunity to sail on a classic, but it will also open up a whole new sailing area for members.  More information will be posted on our website soon.  Rear Commodore John LaGrassa, Principle Race Officer Jean Yves Noblet & Membership Committee Chair Linda Kulla pose in front of the first G-Sloop.
