PHRF Fleet
MYC is excited to announce the revival of PHRF races in 2017!
PHRF is a system where different types of boats can race against each other. PHRF stands for “Performance Handicap Racing Formula.” Each boat is issued a “rating”. Then your finish or start time for each race is adjusted according to your rating.
PHRF races will take place on Thursday evenings and saturday afternoons. Thursday races will start at 6:30 pm and Saturday races will start at 3 pm. All races will start from the Honorable William Wall, followed by the BBQ and award ceremony at the Manhattan Yacht Club clubhouse!
All types of sailboats are invited to participate in the PHRF Races. You can expect to see on the starting line 12 Meters, IODs and many other types of sailboats.
Have you ever experienced of being on a starting line with two America’s Cup 12 meters. Have you dreamed of possibly beating them? This is your chance, just make sure you are there to collect your trophy at the end of the race, enjoy some BBQ and some refreshments!
The entry fee per boat is $250 per series (7 race nights per serie), and there are 3 series per season. Register your boat here.
