Race Committee Assignments

Each J/24 racing team is required to serve as Race Committee at least once per year. So that you do not miss racing, teams serve as race committee on the opposite night. If you race on Tuesday, you will do race committee on Wednesday.

Your team is required to provide at least 3 people for race committee, 2 for the race committee boat and 1 to be an on-water judge.

On-water judging - Beginning in 2004, we will test on-water judging for the J/24 class. Your Race Committee needs to provide 1 person who understands the racing rules. This person will ride on a powerboat and follow the races to ensure that teams follow the rules.

The other 2 people for race committee assist the Race Manager on the Honorable William Wall.

In the spring, team captains have an opportunity to specify a date in the spring or summer series when they wish to do race committee. If your team has not yet selected a date after April 15, a date will be assigned to you.

If you scheduled date does not happen due to bad weather or wind, your RC assignment will be rescheduled toward the end of the season.
