Dennis
Conner International Yacht Club Challenge Member volunteers are needed to serve as Racing Representatives during the Dennis Conner International Yacht Club Challenge. According to club rules, each boat must sail with a club rep who provides local knowledge, a VHF radio, etc. Racing Reps sail in the actual event. You will need to transfer your weight from side to side, hike out, lean in, and otherwise get out of the way, all while learning the commands in a new language! But it is great fun and you will actually meet many of the sailors and see how they compete for the trophies. The Racing Representatives will be coordinated by Commodore Michael Fortenbaugh. Racing Representatives have to arrive at the club every morning at 10:30 a.m. You are assigned one boat and stay with that boat while the teams switch. You will sail with each team once. First preference for participating will be given to Racing Representatives who can do the most days. Second preference will be given to those who have the most racing experience. Alternate reps will be scheduled for every day so we have adequate back up in case of emergency or injury. Racing Representatives are also encouraged to participate in all social events and become part of the spirit of the regatta. I would like to volunteer as a Racing Representative: Racing Representatives
