Boat Owner Membership
Traditionally, Manhattan Sailing Club offered membership to people who wished to use the club fleet of J/24s. As the club has expanded, several boat owners, who do not need access to the club J/24 fleet, have suggested a special membership category.
Therefore, beginning in 2005, Manhattan Sailing Club is expanding membership to offer a Boat Owner Membership.
The new "Boat Owner Membership" allows people who own boats to join the club and enjoy the social opportunities offered by our organization.
Boat Owners will also be allowed to post notices on our website which will hope will offer more crew to owners and more sailing opportunities to regular members.
Boat Owner Membership does not include access to the club fleet of J/24s.
However, Boat Owners will be allowed regular access and privileges at the new clubhouse in the harbor.
By inviting private boat owners to join the club, we hope to increase the strength of our harbor sailing community. We are looking for Boat Owners who wish to participate, who will sail together and who will join an annual cruise.
Dues for Boat Owners will be $100 per year (there is NYS sales tax on dues plus a $150 initiation fee when you join). Included with membership is a free club burgee for your boat plus a white club embroidered polo shirt with your boat name.
The application process is simple. Just select which membership committee meeting you wish to attend and complete the following on-line application. Then attend the meeting and if you are accepted as a member, welcome aboard!
